International Open Access Week: October 19-26, 2020

International Open Access Week, a global event now entering its thirteenth year, is an opportunity for open access advocates to engage their communities to teach them about the potential benefits of Open Access, to share what they’ve learned with colleagues, and to help inspire wider participation in helping to make Open Access a new norm in scholarship and research.

Begun in 2007 as Open Access Day, Since then, International Open Access Week has grown exponentially and is now celebrated at hundreds of events around the world. Open Access Week is an invaluable chance to connect the global momentum toward open sharing with the advancement of policy changes on the local level.

The 2020 Open Access Week Advisory Committee is pleased to announce that the theme for this year’s International Open Access Week, to be held October 19-25, will be “Open with Purpose: Taking Action to Build Structural Equity and Inclusion.”
